Southern Africa
Overview
Formally known as Rhodesia, Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It also used to be widely referred to as the “Breadbasket of Africa” for its enterprising nature. Zimbabwe boasts a dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife. A lot of its wildlife is found within the country’s countless parks, reserves and private safari areas. Within the Victoria Falls, there is a thundering 108m drop of the Zambezi River into the narrow Batoka Gorge, where white water rafting and bungee are jumping on o\er for thrill seekers. Downstream are the Matusadona and Mana Pools National Park, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife as well as the bat migration. Zimbabwe is a beautiful African country, rich in resources and hardworking people. Despite political turmoil, it is a rewarding travel destination. Much of Zimbabwe’s tourism industry revolves around its incredible natural beauty.
