Overview

The Horn of Africa, Ethiopia, is a rugged, landlocked country split by the Great Rift Valley. A place of ancient culture. One of the country’s important sites is Lalibela, the site of rock-cut 12-13 Century Christian Churches, a hotspot for the Gelada monkeys in the Simien Mountains National Park, Bale Mountains National Park (home to the Ethiopian wolf) and the Queen Elizabeth National Park for the unusual tree-climbing lions. The latter is also a World Heritage Site teeming with incredible history. From its ancient historical sights to the immaculately preserved traditions of its most isolated tribes, Ethiopia is one of East Africa’s most popular cultural destinations.
