Madagascar
The island of Madagascar is located in the Indian Ocean and was once known as Malagasy. Madagascar is approximately 400 kilometres off the coast of East Africa and is the world’s second-largest island country. It’s an independent country that boasts some of the most unique species, a high density of lemurs a diverse number of baobab trees. And the cherry on top? Madagascar is a hotspot for whale sharks. Madagascar is undoubtedly one of Africa’s most fascinating countries, and certainly one of the continent’s most unique.
